Peculiar Business owners applying for or renewing business licenses with the City of Peculiar may do so without completing a fire inspection first. The Prevention division of the fire district will contact the respective business owner at a later date to schedule a fire inspection.
The City and Fire District agreed to this change in 2022 to prevent lapses in business licenses and to provide convenience to business operators.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact the West Peculiar Fire Protection District.
A hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. August 13, 2024, at the West Peculiar Fire Protection District, Fire Station 1, located at 200 South Main, Peculiar, Cass County, Missouri, at which Citizens may be heard on the property tax rates proposed to be set by the West Peculiar Fire Protection District, a political subdivision. The tax rates are set to produce the revenues which the budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2024, shows to be required from the property tax. Each tax rate is determined by dividing the amount of revenue required by the current assessed valuation. The result is multiplied by $100 valuation.
